European Azerbaijan School is a private English-language IB continuum school in Baku, Azerbaijan, serving students aged 3 to 17 across two campuses: Yasamal for Early Years and Primary, and Badamdar for Middle Years, Diploma and CP. The school delivers the International Baccalaureate across its divisions with PYP, MYP, DP and CP, and also offers the BTEC qualification. In the Secondary School, learning follows the MYP (Grades 5–9) and DP (Grades 10–12) pathways, with CP integrated into the programme. The institution is authorized by the Ministry of Education and is the only Azerbaijani school accredited in all four IB programmes. It earned Council of International Schools accreditation and joined COBIS as an Accredited Member in 2023. Facilities at the Secondary Campus include specialist classrooms, science labs (Chemistry, Physics, Biology), an IB Study Centre, a Fine Arts Suite, a Music Room, a STEAM room, a Gymnasium, a 25m swimming pool, a library and an 840-seat Auditorium, plus a Nurse. The European Azerbaijan School delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) across its divisions. In the Secondary School, learning follows the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 5–9 and the Diploma Programme (DP) for Grades 10–12. The school also offers the Career-Related Programme (CP) as part of the IB continuum. The Diploma Programme is a rigorous, academically balanced two-year programme designed to prepare students aged 15–17 for success at university and in life beyond. The CP provides a comprehensive framework that combines DP courses with a CP core and an approved career-related study. The IB approach is embedded across the school's curriculum from the Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Primary Years Programme (PYP) through to Secondary.
Graduates are accepted to leading universities worldwide. The school highlights admissions of its students to universities across the globe. Top graduates receive a University Support Grant to assist with the first-year tuition deposit, housing, or travel costs. The Diploma Programme is designed to prepare students aged 15 to 17 for success at university and in life beyond.
1. Admission is open to students of all nationalities who can access and benefit from the international curriculum and IB programmes offered by European Azerbaijan School. 2. The school runs the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP), with a clear progression from Primary to Secondary. 3. Specialist teachers are employed at all grade levels and are qualified to work within IB PYP, MYP and DP. 4. Dedicated IB programme coordinators guide academic programmes and support learning. 5. There are additional language offerings for non-Azerbaijani students who cannot follow language courses in Azerbaijani. 6. The best way to get to know the school is through an admissions tour. 7. A pre-admissions meeting and a campus tour with an Admissions team member can be arranged. 8. Online registration is available via eas.openapply.com. 9. Interested applicants complete an application. 10. All completed application documents, a non-refundable registration fee, and any additional supporting information requested by the school (transcripts, tests, examination results, or SEN documentation) must be submitted. 11. The admissions office reviews all materials against published admissions criteria. 12. Final decisions for admission are made by the Director, whose decision is final. 13. The preliminary eligibility assessment comprises an internal online test for Primary (starting from Grade 1) and Secondary sections to provide information about the student's ability. 14. Through interviews in Secondary, the school assesses English language proficiency, initial language course needs, motivation, and willingness to be collaborative; teacher references are sought and academic records examined. 15. A diagnostic assessment is provided during the first week of school in all subjects to monitor progress. 16. Language course allocations, including EAL provision, are arranged based on assessments. 17. Admission decisions fall into four categories: Accept; Accept conditionally; Decline; Waiting List. 18. Age guidelines apply for entry (ELC 3-5 years by December 31; Primary Grades 1–4 by December 31; etc.). 19. The Director's decision is final. 20. Payment of the application fee is not a guarantee of admission. 21. When an offer is made, a confirmation email is sent to the parents and a phone call is made. 22. Registration for the upcoming academic year operates on a rolling admissions process. 23. In March, the school provides information about examination procedures and the selection process. 24. The Admissions Office informs parents/carers of the school's decision. 25. Registration forms for ELC, Primary, and Secondary are available via eas.openapply.com. 26. Admitted students may be placed on probation or conditional admission; standard probation lasts three months and may extend to one semester; ongoing monitoring and support are provided. 27. The Admissions Policy aligns with the Inclusion Policy and IB Access and Inclusion Framework; the school welcomes students with mild learning disabilities who can engage with the curriculum with differentiation and support; the SEND Department participates in review of applications requiring access and inclusion considerations. 28. There is a standardised Appeals process for admissions decisions.
