Introduction

Sekolah Montessori Erdkinder Bali offers a Montessori curriculum for ages 3–18 in Bali, Indonesia. The school follows three interlocking programs: Casa dei Bambini (3–6) provides a Montessori preschool with five learning areas—Practical Life, Sensory Development, Mathematics, Language, and Cultural. Primaria (6–12) serves elementary-age children in small, mixed-age groups with integrated studies across geography, biology, history, language, mathematics, science, music, and the arts, emphasizing project work that builds imagination, reasoning, and social awareness. Adolescent Community (12–18) applies an Erdkinder-style Work and Study philosophy, including a Work & Study placement with Bali-based partners. The program began in September 2022 with two students. Facilities include an Outdoor Area with an Organic Garden & Playground, a Culinary Arts kitchen (garden-to-table program), a chicken area, a sunflowers garden, and the Balinese Dewi Saraswati statue for education and art. An adolescent study center is under construction. Sustainability is embedded through composting, recycling, and partnerships with MAI Organic farm; Shivu the school dog supports community life.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Four payment frequency options are offered: monthly (12 equal advance payments), quarterly (4 equal payments), semester (2 payments), or annual single upfront payment. Annual upfront payment removes the requirement for a security deposit. Each payment is paid in advance, normally on the 1st of the month or by acceptance. Specific quarterly and semester due dates are: 1 August, 1 November, 1 February, 1 April (quarters); 1 August and 1 February (semesters). Annual payment is due 1 August or on acceptance.

- Late payment penalty: IDR 250,000 per week for amounts not paid by the due date and within the following 7 days. If tuition is overdue by 90 days, the school may treat the payment arrangement as breached and declare the balance immediately due; continued non‑payment may result in the student being prevented from attending.

- Allowances or refunds are not given for phased starts, illness, or vacations; the school does not replace children from May to July and, for that term, no refund of tuition fees is made for any reason. A minimum of two months' written notice of withdrawal is required to qualify for refund of tuition fees; failure to provide this will result in invoicing for the next quarter or semester (applies to monthly payments as well).

Security deposit, capital levy and refund rules

- Registration fee: non‑refundable.
- Security deposit: refundable if all accounts are settled in full, all school property returned and required notice given; the deposit is normally not refundable in the case of application withdrawal.
- Capital Development Levy: annual, non‑refundable; paid on registration and annually (due date shown in the schedule).
- The refundable Security Deposit amounts vary by programme and are waived if the family pays the entire year upfront.

Boarding fees

- No boarding programme or boarding fees are shown in the school fee schedule; the school operates as a day programme with listed daily opening hours.

Other costs and charges

- Meals / food: tuition does not include food or food ingredients (for example for cooking class). Meal costs are therefore additional to tuition if provided.
- Cambridge / IGCSE exam fees apply at the adolescent level; the schedule references an IGCSE / Cambridge fee as an additional charge.
- Uniforms: the published fee schedule does not specify a separate uniform charge.
- Other incidental or programme‑specific charges (excursions, specialist activities, materials) may apply but are not specified as fixed items in the published fee schedule.

Payment methods and transactional details

- Fees are charged in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).
- Payment methods accepted: cash in IDR at the school office or bank draft / bank transfer to the school account. All bank charges are the responsibility of the payer and the full invoice amount should arrive in the school account. If payment is made by bank draft/transfer, proof of payment (photo) should be sent by WhatsApp to the administration/foundress. No credit‑card payment method is specified in the published schedule.

Administrative notes affecting fees

- Tuition and fees are reviewed annually and may be adjusted. Fees are charged in IDR in compliance with Indonesian legislation; families paying from foreign currency accounts should check bank exchange rates to ensure correct transfer amounts. Extenuating circumstances for payment difficulties can be considered by the foundress/admin.

Admissions

Admissions

Step 01. Connect to us via the Prospect Form – fill in and send to us. The form collects information about the child, the program of interest, and the parent's contact details. It includes sections for information about the child, information about the parent, and questions about the child's development, plus GDPR consent and a recaptcha. This initiates the admissions process.

Step 02. Book your individual school tour with us and receive the enrollment package with detailed information. The tour provides personalized information about the school and its programs. The enrollment package explains next steps and any documents required for admission. This moves the family toward formal enrollment.

Step 03. Arrange a trial period for your child and an observation date for you as a parent, plus an informative conversation/interview. Primaria (6-12) trial lasts a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 3 weeks to determine fit; children who have not attended a Montessori program before may be asked to write a letter to their new teacher during the trial. If the fit is good, a letter of offer is sent by email toward the end of the trial period. Adolescent Program applicants meet with the teacher for an interview to ensure a good fit; they must submit a handwritten letter and their last two school reports, and no trials are offered at this level.

Step 04. Acceptance from the school. After the assessment and interview, acceptance is granted to the applicant. This confirmation marks the transition from trial to formal admission.

Step 05. Complete the Admissions process (sign all enrollment documents and payment of the Enrollment fees). Upon acceptance, enrollment documents are signed and enrollment fees are paid to finalize admission.
