El Gouna International School is located in El Gouna, a coastal town on the Red Sea about 25 km from Hurghada International Airport and roughly a four-hour drive from Cairo. The school offers two pathways: the British Section follows the National Curriculum for England, with English as the language of instruction and leading to IGCSEs and AS/A Levels taught by British-qualified teachers. The National Section uses the Egyptian Language School Curriculum, with English as the language of instruction; Arabic, Social Studies/Civics and Religion are taught by Egyptian teachers. The German Language DSD Programme is available in both sections. All subjects are taught in English, except Arabic, Social Studies/Civics and Religion, which are taught in Arabic by Egyptian teachers. The school is accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and is a member of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME). The school delivers Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) as part of the curriculum. The Tutor System places each student in a Tutor group with a Form Tutor who meets daily and serves as the first point of contact for worries or concerns, monitoring social and academic progress. A Head of Secondary (Pastoral care) and the Deputy Principal lead pastoral care and provide additional support for students and families. The school prioritises wellbeing and positive relationships as central to learning and personal development. The Principal emphasises the ongoing commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of students.

Pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities will be given assistance to achieve their potential by differentiation of tasks, positioning in the classroom, equipment that supports progress and additional support where appropriate. No pupil or staff member should be made to feel uncomfortable because they differ from the majority, including disability or English as an additional language. Inclusion within the life of the School ensures an inclusive environment.

The medium of instruction used in all subjects is English, except Arabic, Social Studies/Civics and Religion, which are taught by Egyptian teachers. Starting in Primary 1, second foreign language instruction is offered with choices of French or German. If German is chosen, students may sit for the German Language DSD certificate after the 3rd Preparatory year.

The school is committed to the emotional and physical wellbeing of pupils, ensuring they are happy, healthy and safe. A Tutor System and PSHE programme support pupils' social and emotional development, with senior pastoral leads guiding support for students and families. El Gouna International School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare from Foundation Stage to Year 13. There is a dedicated safeguarding team and comprehensive policies, including child protection and online safety. Health and Safety policy documents also outline safeguarding responsibilities and procedures for reporting concerns.

1. Submit an application with all required documents. An online application form is available via the admissions process page. Prepare a recent passport photograph of your child, a copy of the child's birth certificate, a copy of the child's passport (if non-Egyptian, personal details page), copies of both parents' national IDs or passports, and the applicant's end-of-year school reports from the last two academic years. Other documents may be required later on.

2. Appointment for Admission Assessment after payment of a non-refundable fee, which does not guarantee an offer of a place. Assessments are age-appropriate; Early Years/KG are conducted by a Primary Years team, while Year 7/1st Preparatory and up sit placement tests in core subjects. The assessment is scheduled after receiving a complete application if there is a place available.

3. After the assessment, a meeting with the School Principal and/or Deputy Principal will be arranged, and both parents must be present with the child.

4. A place may be offered subject to successful completion of academic admission assessments in English, Maths and Arabic (plus Science if applicable), and an interview. Once an offer is given, parents have 2–5 business days to confirm acceptance or rejection.

5. Parents have 2 weeks upon confirmation of the child's place to submit required original documents and to secure their place by paying a deposit or the full fee. In case of delay of deposit payment, the place would be offered to the waitlisted applicant. Original documents required include: for Egyptian students – 6 recent photos, birth certificate, vaccination history, and copies of both parents' IDs; for foreign students – 8 recent photos, birth certificate translated into Arabic and authenticated with embassy stamp, No Objection Letter from the embassy, vaccination record or health/medical report, and copies of the last two school reports stamped by the embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Transfer documents may be required if transferring from another school in Egypt.

The place would be offered to the waitlisted applicant if there is a delay in deposit payment.
