Parents are not allowed to accompany their children on the first day of school.

Dress style rules apply. Clothing must cover the stomach and back; tops must have shoulder straps or sleeves; shorts/skirts must be at least mid-thigh; jeans with holes or rips are not permitted; flip-flops are not allowed.

Restauration promotes healthy eating and carries the Fourchette Verte label, using seasonal, locally sourced, eco-labeled produce from Geneva and Switzerland. Switzerland

IIL bus service covers 133 zones across the Canton of Geneva, neighbouring France and part of Vaud with around 20 bus lines and approximately 300 students using the service daily. Morning pick-up times vary to ensure arrival at school between 7:45 and 8:10 am. Afternoon buses depart at 4:35 pm (except on Wednesdays 12:45).

Boarding facilities: DAY.

The uniform is worn by all students from kindergarten through elementary; there are everyday wear and sport variants for girls and boys. For the secondary, there is a dress code defining attire expectations. The IIL Shop sells the approved uniform items, including sweaters, polos, skirts, dresses, shorts, trousers, sportswear and caps, with on-site or online purchasing options.

Catering at IIL provides a varied, balanced and local meals; the service provider prepares healthy meals in accordance with hygiene rules. 1. Admission procedure. The enrolment of a student follows a precise procedure. An enrolment form completed and signed by legal guardians must be sent to the Director, and the form must also be signed by the applicant if the applicant is over 18. By signing the enrolment form, legal guardians and the student over 18 accept the terms of enrolment; there is no entitlement to enrolment, and the School can refuse a request for enrolment without disclosing a reason. The following papers must be submitted with all applications: a recent photograph, a copy of the birth certificate, a copy of the passport or identity card, an extract of the court order relative to parental authority where relevant, school reports, and an exeat issued by the last school attended. After the application has been reviewed by the Director, the legal guardians and the student over 18 will be informed of the acceptance or refusal of their child's admission.

School hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:00. There is no after-school care.

The cantine is run by the Association des Parents d'Elèves (APE). The EPFG cantine serves hot meals from 12:00 to the whole school. The meals are balanced and supervised by a dietitian; the menus are posted at the entrance of the school and in the main hall.

AEFE-homologated. The Ecole Primaire Française de Genève is responsible for schooling and pedagogy. The Association pour l'Ecole Primaire Française de Genève handles management and logistics. The Association des Parents d'Elèves (APE) is the link between parents and the School, organizing and coordinating the cantine and the Escalade festival.

The programs applied are those of the French National Education (Eduscol). They are organized into cycles: Cycle 1—PS, MS, GS (GS only at EPFG); Cycle 2—CP, CE1, CE2; Cycle 3—CM1, CM2 and 6e (only CM1 and CM2 at EPFG). The objective is for all students to master a common core of competencies and knowledge by the end of compulsory schooling; 25 hours per week are taught annually, with additional language hours built in. The French language is the language of instruction for most teaching; English starts in GS with 30 minutes per week, 45 minutes per week in CP, 1 hour per week for CE1 and CE2, 1 hour 30 minutes per week for CM1, and 3 hours per week for CM2, including 1 hour of a subject taught in English. The school has no secondary cycle; students continue at another establishment after CM2. There is no French AEFE secondary in Geneva; the nearest is Institut Sainte-Marcelline (Institut Valmont) in Lausanne. Many private Swiss or private French-system schools in Switzerland welcome EPFG graduates and prepare for the French baccalaureat. Other private Swiss or international establishments may offer continuation from the Orientation cycle to maturité, often within networks such as GESBF or AGEP. To enroll a child in the school, you must meet two criteria: be domiciled in the canton of Geneva, and for an enrollment in Grande Section (GS) or 2P, the child must have already attended school for a minimum of one year (in PS or 1P). For pre-registration, you can email admission@epfg.ch and fill the form attached to the following link (for each child if you wish to pre-register multiple). An open-house morning will be organized on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 9:30 to 12:00 to visit the school and meet members of the teaching staff. For families concerned with a possible admission for the 2025-2026 intake, you must assemble a file to be presented to the admissions committee, which will meet on Monday, February 2, 2026. The committee will decide on your admission request based on available places and the following priorities, in this order: 1) a sibling in the school; 2) a student from the French system or AEFE; 3) French nationality; 4) date of pre-registration. Documents to be provided electronically between January 5 and January 31, 2026 include: a) a copy of the family booklet or a birth certificate showing parentage; b) a child's identity document (ID card or passport) for each nationality declared at registration; c) proof of domicile in the canton of Geneva (less than 3 months) such as a water, electricity, or internet bill or a residence certificate; d) a certificate of schooling from the child's current class and school. Campus des Nations is located in the heart of Geneva's international quarter and is easily accessible by public transport from both the city centre and major residential areas. The UN, the ILO and the WHO are among its neighbours, and many employees' children attend the campus. The campus has two sites: Pregny, serving Pre-Reception to Year 3 (ages 3 to 7), and Saconnex, accommodating Year 4 to Year 13 (ages 8 to 18). 1. Submit your application online through the Admissions platform and create an account. Applications can be submitted for the current school year or for future years, and the earlier the application is submitted, the better the chances of obtaining a place. Depending on the number of places available, new students may be admitted during the year up to May 1. 2. Provide the listed documents to support the application. A recent passport photo is required for the school ID, and proof of date of birth is required for applicants up to age 5. Include copies of the end-of-year school reports for the last two years (in English or French) and the current year's reports if applicable. Include a short essay describing the child or a self-portrait drawing, with the child's name underneath, and complete the online payment of the CHF 250 application fee. 3. Admissions criteria. All applications are considered individually, taking into account placement in the present school, any changes during the applicant's education, languages spoken, and final goals. The level of maturity and age are considered, with exceptions possible on a case-by-case basis. Children must be toilet trained before they start school. 4. Offers of places for entry in September. Places will be offered by the Admissions Office by telephone or email from February onwards to the end of August. Following the acceptance of a place by the parents, a contract is sent by the Admissions office. The place is secured upon receipt of the enrolment contract signed by the parents and of the payment of the Registration Fee and the Capital Development Fund Fee. 5. Come and join us. 01 Information. Enrollment is open all year. The admission form should be completed, and upon receipt it is forwarded to the admissions commission which will contact you to schedule the pedagogical interview. The admission dossier fee is CHF 150 per child. This payment does not commit to enrolling your child, but to study the dossier. 02 Admission application. Fill the admission form and send it by post or by email. The dossier fee remains CHF 150 per child. Upon receipt of the complete dossier, it is transmitted to the admissions commission which will contact you to schedule the pedagogical interview. 03 Pedagogical interview. Parents are met, with their child, by the lead teacher or tutor. If there is agreement, the student undertakes a trial placement of one to two weeks in their future class (not for nurseries). The trial placement fee is CHF 250. After the placement, the teacher contacts the family to confirm whether the pedagogical team is ready to continue the admissions process and that the family remains interested. 04 Administrative interview. If the admissions process continues, the secretariat will contact you for an administrative interview.

An open-to-all policy applies and families in need can apply for a reduction of tuition by submitting a file to the Commission des engagements financiers (CEF). The CEF evaluates situations on a case-by-case basis and the process is confidential. After studying the file, an interview with two CEF members is held to agree on an adjusted tuition amount proportional to the family's income. A starting point for discussion is that tuition representing 14% of the family's gross income is considered a fair baseline.
